Sunday 6th December 2026

The 60s Allstars,

Our regular first Sunday of  the month band but not in November as Alan Lovell and Steve Oakman are on tour with The Swinging Blue Jeans and Vanity Fare.

at The Hampton HUB,  3 Ashley Road, Hampton, TW12 2JA

7.30pm (Doors open at 6.00pm) to 10.15pm

‘The Stoned Hillbillies’, 2026, lovingly play a cheerful, lively brand of foot tapping and very danceable Rhythm ‘n Blues/ Rock ‘n Roll songs from 1960s. Much of the current repertoire includes songs from Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley and The Rolling Stones as well as artists such as Joe Brown and Lonnie Donnegan.

The band is descended from a combination of Mark Freeman’s friendship with ROD STEWART drummer, the late Micky Waller and also featured members from the popular tribute band, ‘The Rollin Stoned..

The Micky Waller All Stars also featured current bass player Keith Grant, from The Downliner’s Sect, who also worked with Mark in the late Art Wood’s Allstars  and Ali Makenzie’s ‘Birdwood’.

Micky sadly died in 2008 but his much loved ‘Allstars’ were persuaded by agents George McFall and Pete Feenstra to keep the flag flying and continued as ‘The Crawdaddies’.

The last Crawdaddies show was just before ‘lockdown’ at The Hub in Hampton.

Since then, Mark teamed up with a long-term guitarist friend Keith Matthews to embark on the latest generation of ‘Stoned Hillbillies’ project, producing their CD ‘Six of One and a Dozen of The Other’.

The show, on our return to THE HUB. will feature Chris Sharley, probably best known for his work with ‘70s band ‘Sassafrass’ on Drums, Keith Matthews, Lead and Slide Guitar who, not least has graced the stage with the likes of Chris Farlowe;  Keith Grant / Downliners Sect on Bass and Mark Freeman on Rhythm Guitar and Vocals.
