Barnes Rock recommends and helps to promote other local music venues, bands, musicians and events. Please Contact Us if you have any suggestions and we shall put them on this page. Locally in Barnes, The Bull’s Head at Barnes regularly puts on music. On Friday nights, many Barnes Rock supporters go to Leonardo’s Wine Bar in Sheen (two blocks after Waitrose on the left towards Richmond) where there is always music, a great atmosphere, dancing and good food, wine and beer of course. In July, the Hampton Pools concerts are a great evening out, usually in excellent warm weather.
Live gigs, usually on Sunday evenings, are presented by Music Heritage London at One Kew Road with bands of the highest calibre and global reputation at one of London’s most iconic venues. One Kew Road was known in the 60s as the Station Hotel and home to the original Crawdaddy Club.
The Eel Pie Club stages gigs usually on Thursdays and its aim is to preserve and continue the heritage of Richmond Rhythm & Blues in the area where it all began in the 1960s, Eel Pie Island. The Crawdaddy Club, The Station Hotel, The Imperial and L’Auberge were just some of the famous venues that made R & B world famous and whose new young talent (including The Rolling Stones, TheYardbirds, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page and Rod Stewart) began their rise to world fame. AND, if you like dancing regularly, why not download the, free, Global Dance Card app, to find dance events any night in the local area and beyond.
